Isaiah 40-55

Does God intervene in world events, particularly the kind of social and geopolitical changes shaking our world at the moment? If he does, then how does he intervene? What can we expect?

The Israelites in exile in Babylon in the middle of the 6th century BC faced a similar situation, as the balance of power between empires tilted. And Isaiah 40-55 gives a good example of the biblical understanding of how God chooses to work in our world.
