We start a new series today, looking at the gifts God gives his people.
It can be quite a surprise to discover how important the idea of gifts was to the early church, at least judging from the number of times gifts were mentioned in the letters they wrote to one another. They seem to have considered a good understanding of gifts to be vital. Today we often seem to think gifts are optional, just for the real enthusiast, or even, sometimes, more trouble than they’re worth.
So why do gifts matter? Bill Drewett introduces our series.
