Ministry
We value advancing the Kingdom of God by speaking the words and doing the deeds of Jesus: telling God’s story, pointing others towards relationship with God, healing the sick, and delivering the oppressed in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We care about social justice, longing to see the rule and reign of God increasingly in individual lives, communal relations and throughout the structures of society.
We value flexibility, experimentation, and risk-taking in ministry; it is better to try and fail than not to try at all. However, we also believe it is important to evaluate quality and effectiveness, as we desire that all that we do should be marked by excellence, integrity and love.
We value servant leadership as modelled by Jesus. We believe that although God has put authority in the hands of His leaders, it is clear that this authority must be exercised with humility, selflessness, grace and a sincere desire to build up God’s community.
We value creativity, as we understand a creative God would have us do.
We value simplicity and ‘un-hype’ in our approach to ministry.
We value an individual’s Godly character over their abilities and gifts.
We value establishing new church communities of Christian faith around Bristol, the UK and the world.
We value generosity both to our local and global communities. We are committed to freely giving away all that we have freely received from God.
We value what God is doing in all His church around the world. As a result we are committed to learning and receiving from other churches, as we seek to continue to learn what it means to be God’s community today.
