BV Alpha Course

If you want to explore any of these questions, then Alpha is for you! Millions of people all over the world have completed the Alpha course - in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons.

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting. The purpose is to make space for people to think about and discuss issues of faith, meaning and spirituality, as well as to learn about the fundamentals of the Christian faith. People of all beliefs and backgrounds attend the course - and you are sure to have a great time, whatever your opinion of the Church or Christianity.

There are ten thought provoking evening sessions, and an optional Saturday. It is low-key, friendly and fun - and it is supported by all of the main Christian denominations.  It has also received great write-ups in the secular press - see http://uk.alpha.org for more details!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT ALPHA?

  • After a great supper there will be a short talk to listen to, covering a range of topics including: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? How can I be sure of my faith? How does God guide us? Who is the Holy Spirit? How can I overcome evil? Does God heal today? Why and how should I read the Bible and pray?
  • After each talk there is a time to discuss issues or questions you may have in smaller groups. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple or too hostile. Small groups are a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other and make new friends.
